140 Words (or less) About Blogging

It’s Thursday.  That means today is Twitterific.  I will write about a subject in 140 words.  Or less.

In the grand scheme of things I am a new blogger.  I’ve had blogs for almost three years, but I have only been a regular blogger for a hair over two months.  I’ve learned some things and will learn more.  Here are a few.

Be careful about humor.  Few people have as warped a sense of humor as I do.

Don’t pick fights or argue with anyone via your blog.  No one will win.  More than likely I will look bad.

Be transparent.  Be real.  Be honest.

Be positive.  Be kind.  Be nice.  Be loving.  Be humble

Be consistent.  People actually begin to look for you on a daily basis.

Write even if no one is reading.  Someone will.

Do it so that the Lord will be glorified.

I agree with a lot of this. Arguing with those who comment is extremely bad and drives people away from your blog, rather than to it. As for the rest – it’s mostly common sense, which is a lot of what blogging is.

I think it is easy to hide behind a blog and do a lot of the opposite of what I said….and I have done some of that.

I think in the beginning, everyone will do some of these things. That’s where time and experience comes in. We learn what it right and wrong in blogging as we go along.
