Christmas Fears
Do you have any fears at Christmas?
I don’t mean whether or not you don’t get someone the right present or you forgot to send someone a Christmas card.
I mean more serious fears. Fears similar to the ones I have. Here are some of the things I fear.
I fear that when I see a sign that says, “Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!” that even Christians are missing the “reason for the season.”
I fear that we have lost focus and made Christmas a big party.
I fear that we don’t remember that Christmas was a rescue mission.
I fear that we focus on the baby instead of the God-man.
I fear that we don’t remember that the Word became flesh.
I fear that we don’t remember that Christ gave up all of His rights to make us right.
I fear that we don’t look at our Christmas trees and see them pointing up to Christ.
I fear that we don’t look at our Christmas trees and see another tree.
I fear that as we gather with family that we don’t see that Christ gave us a bigger family.
I fear that as we gather in our homes that we don’t remember that Christ has gone to prepare another for us.
How about you? What do you fear this Christmas?
Larry, This is a powerful post! I share these same fears.
Thanks Jon! I also fear people won’t read it.
No need to fear people won’t read it Larry! I’m heading out to church and had to stop to read this AND share! GREAT fears to ponder!!
Thanks Rhonda….have a great Sunday.
Needed to hear this and think on this Larry! Thanks for sharing and I have the same fears I just hadn’t been able to put them in the proper words! I will be sharing them! Merry Christmas!
