140 Words (More or Less) About My 2012 Goals

It’s Twitterific Thursday, where I write something in 140 words, more or less.  Today I share some of my 2012 goals.

Today I want to share my six 2012 goals with the multitudes of Deucology readers.  Some of you may ask, “Why six?”  My smart-aleck answer is because there aren’t seven.  Seriously, though, I can’t really answer that question.  These are six key things I want to achieve this year.  They aren’t my only goals, but they are the ones I want to share with you.  So, if you’ve made it this far, here are my 2012 goals.

  • Run my first marathon at the Kiawah Marathon on December 8.
  • Attend Bryan Allain’s  Killer Tribes conference on March 31.
  • Have an idea for a book that I have outlined by July 1.
  • Read the entire Chronicles of Narnia series by December 31.
  • Lose 30 pounds by December 31.
  • Read the Bible beginning March 1 by October 31.

What are your goals for 2012?

My goals are to spend more time in the Word without a “study” but just time to listen and meditate. Get back to the gym (now that we have the $ again). Swim a minimum of 2012 laps. Get involved in my new community. Learn something new, like how to paint or throw pottery. Help, whenever and wherever I can.

Run your first marathon on my birthday – great goal! Actually, all of these goals seem pretty good. I’m still working on my goal list, but my biggest goal is to Stretch closer to God this year. I want to pray BIGGER, BOLDER prayers. I’d like to run a marathon again this year (maybe two). I’d like to exercise at least 200 days this year. I’d like to read through the Bible, and I’d like to take this year to study the life of David. I’d like to take steps to become more financially sound – this will start with meeting with a financial counselor in January. I’d like to work towards my first book – an outline is a great first step (thanks for the idea). I want to be deliberate in growing in my marriage and my parenting. My wife and I will be attending a FamilyLife Weekend to Remember in February. We’re working on planning intentional time with our kids for vacations (and regular time at home). I want to serve God more intentionally this year – small group leadership and middle school ministry. I want to read more this year – at least one book a month. I want to be active in drawing co-workers to Christ. This is where I start…
