7 Benefits Of Being A Roman Soldier In An Easter Musical

I was a Roman soldier last week in our Easter musical.  It was a long week.  I was at the church house seven of eight nights.

Here are the benefits of participating in my first ever Easter musical.

  1. I got to hear some outstanding music.
  2. I got to see a picture of Heaven by worshipping with fellow believers constantly.
  3. I made a new friend.
  4. I got to hear stories of people I came in contact with.
  5. I got be a small part of a big production.
  6. I saw  multiculturalism take place when I didn’t expect it.
  7. I became more a part of the faith community that I joined.

I’m sure there were more benefits that escape me right now.  I’m excited more each week as I continue to assimilate into this group.  It isn’t perfect, but it is a lot of fun.

What are some benefits you have noticed about being part of your faith community lately?

Benefit: The opportunity to be on the giving and receiving end of generosity. We’ve seen both sides at our home, and it’s been amazing!

You forgot to mention the awesome costume!
I am getting ready to cook BBQ chickens tomorrow morning (2am) for our annual men’s fundraiser. It is always one of my favorite days of the year, hard work but the fellowship is priceless.

The fellowship was great and the outfit almost caused a change in my wardrobe.

Benefit: Roman centurions get to rock sandals with belted culottes.

Um, clarifying question regarding #3 – you made “…a friend…” does that mean you had no friends until your thespian debut? ;-)

I should have clarified that it was a new friend. :)

And I should have counted getting to rock the outfit.
