First Church Year #26: Jan’s Birthday

It seems a bit ironic to write a first church year post about a Sunday where we did not actually go to church.  However, you folks show up every Monday morning expecting this series, so I aim to give you what you continue to pay for. :)

Yesterday was Jan’s birthday.  Combine that with the fact that we are not going on any type of vacation this summer and we decided to take Sunday off and do a “one day vacation.”  So, after the campground service we headed over to Gatlinburg and spent time there.

Next Sunday we will be back to normal, whatever normal means.  Tune back in next Monday for another first church year post.

What type of events do you miss church for?

I can count on one hand the number of times I have missed church. Mostly they have been if I am traveling and cannot find a church to attend. I “judge” people who miss. LOL

      Bill, Ha!

I don’t think you can judge me harder than I judge myself. It just feels strange to not go.

haha! Funny you should ask this. I was scheduled to greet before service yesterday. I showed up to greet and then left. My family and I had not been to the beach yet all summer. Our schedule has just been so crazy. Yesterday we seized the opportunity and the weather was beautiful!
