God’s Business
In the beginning, God created…..
In the first five words of the Bible we see God in action. We don’t know what He had been doing during all of the time that was out of time as we know before this act. Being humans, we can’t truly comprehend eternity past any more than we can comprehend eternity future. Try as we might, our arms are not long enough to get around the concept in any ways or means.
But here, as time begins, God acts. He creates. We can read the Genesis account and, despite the fact that some of us are Young Earthers or Gap Theorists, or anything in between, we can all agree that God was in the business of creating.
Finally, He got to us and created His crown jewel, an image of Himself. Created with a spark that the rest of creation did not have, man came into being (and by man I mean man and woman.)
What did we do?
We threw it all away. Sin. Rebellion. The crown jewel was dented and the spark took a hit.
But He didn’t leave it that way.
He’s still in the business of creating.
He provided a way. He provided THE Way.
Guess what?
By following this Way, we become new creatures. A new creation.
The new has come. The old has passed away.
The crown jewel wasn’t just repaired. The crown jewel was made new.
The spark wasn’t just rekindled. The spark blazed anew.
He is still in the creation business.
He has either created a new you. Or He wants to create a new you.
Do you know the Way?
Nice thoughts, Larry. So glad the Artist is still passionate about His art. He continues to mold and shape us.
I do know The Way. I find Him new everyday. He is relentlessly in love with some much that He will not leave me the same. Good post.
Thanks Ken. Hope the Barba is well.
