I Got In A Fight
I got in a fight the other day.
It was a misunderstanding.
It was over something insignificant.
I had just read this guy’s advice.
I should have seen it coming. I should have been more guarded.
Why?
Because I wasn’t fighting with a human. This person was just the tool.
I was fighting someone else.
I was fighting the enemy.
I was fighting myself.
I learned more in that one hour than I have in while.
I learned that I’m not there yet.
I learned that, as positive as I can be, there’s still some of that old negative in there.
I learned that I need to clutch to Christ more.
I learned that I can be as foolish as anyone.
Been in a fight lately?

I am not a “hot” person. I generally will take what someone says and listen to it, evaluate, then respond. I am also not one who (generally) gets vocal and spews out things I will later regret.
Bill, the best thing is that later that evening we ran into each other. We shook each other’s hand and hugged each other’s neck. And moved on.
Thank you for sharing your story. I learned from you that I may not be the only guy dealing with this situation.
I only get in fights when I wear my eyepatch. Arrr.
Seriously, I avoid confrontation. I try not to have opinions either.
That’s one way to keep it from happening.
