You Don’t Have ________ Problems

A husband and wife live for years living paycheck to paycheck.  They have little savings or retirement.  One event could ruin them.

They have financial problems, right?

A husband and wife don’t get along.  He, or she, wants to spend more time with their friends than their spouse.  One is left to be the main one taking care of the kids.  They spend little time with each other.  They are on the verge of splitting up.

They are having marital problems, right?

A guy, or gal, is struggling with their job.  They’ve worked there for years, but wake up one day hating their job.  They don’t know what direction to go.  They would love to do something different.  They just don’t know.  They are on the verge of getting fired.

They are having career problems, right?

I’m not going to say that there is a magic pill that anyone can take in any of the above situations.  One simple thing won’t change everything.

I’m just saying that there is something deeper than what appears to be the real problem.

These folks don’t simply have financial, marital or career problems

They have faith problems.

Getting right with Jesus won’t immediately make all of those things better.  However.

If you approach your finances by asking if they honor Jesus, then you are headed in the right direction.

If you look at your marriage the way Jesus looks at the Church, then there is hope.

If you work your job as to the Lord, then you gain a whole new perspective for work.

Too many of us have faith problems.

Have you ever had any of the above problems?

We are the pay check to pay check people right now. We bought a house and then found out the flood insurance was $300 + a month. We went from being okay to having a really tight budget. We are holding to that it’s just for a season until my kids go to school. Then my wife will get a job again. In the meantime it’s not easy.

I hope I didn’t offend. I painted with broad strokes there.
