A God Problem
We all have problems. They could be relationship problems. Maybe financial issues become problems. It could be your job and your on the verge of being fired.
Last night we ran into a God problem.
A God problem isn’t like these other problems. These others are personal problems that might affect someone else. No, a God problem is something else entirely. A God problem is something caused by the work He is doing among His people in the world.
You could say that the Bible is full of God problems. You see it in Abraham’s life. Then in Moses’. David’s. Others. Whenever God gets busy working in someone’s life, God problems arise.
Abraham had a problem when he and his old wife, not his old lady, were told that they would have a son well past childbearing years.
Moses had a problem when a bush caught on fire and began talking to him.
David had a problem when, as a teenager, he was anointed king while there was already a king on the throne.
Usually we look at problems as bad things. Even when we first encounter God problems, they sometimes seem bad. It’s a good thing we have a God who causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Guess what? If you pursue God and follow Christ, you’re going to have God problems. You can groan and complain, but they are going to show up. They’re going to affect your life.
So what was the God problem that we ran into last night? Simply, we went to church. It was Wednesday night. You know, usually that’s the least attended service of the week.
Our church serves a meal and then we have a short time of prayer and Bible study. It’s good. We get to visit with some folks that we haven’t seen in a few days. All things are good.
Until last night.
We walked in and couldn’t find a seat. There may have been some, but here’s the thing. If you’re at about 80 to 85% full, you’re full.
Jan has a bad knee that requires surgery next week. It’s tough for her to get around and stand or even sit right now. So we looked around and did the logical thing.
We turned around and went home.
That’s a God problem. When you go to church on Wednesday night and there’s no physical room for you, that’s a God problem.
God is at work doing something at our church right now. I’m not sure, but I know for your that He is affecting people’s lives right now. It’s awesome to be able to see it.
Have you ever had a God problem?
