My Story
Who Is This Guy?
Thanks for stopping by. I’m a 45-year-old guy who has been on a journey all of my life. I thought I would be there by now, but have realized, finally, that I never will totally arrive.
I’ve been writing blogs for five years now. I got started because I had all of these thoughts and ideas with nowhere to share them. My good friend, Matt, told me he wrote a blog and that I should try it. I had a couple of false starts until I began this blog. Now, I’ve been with this one going on three years.
If you stick with me long enough, you will discover that I lead a Sunday morning service at a campground from May through October each year. I’ve been at this since 2003. Basically, I get to speak for half the year to what I call an itinerant congregation.
You will also find out that I love Jesus, His Church, my family, our church and the Tennessee Volunteers.
What’s With That Blog Name?
My parents named me after my dad, but without that Junior tag. I got an “II” instead. My dad’s nickname was Ace where he worked, so I’ve become the Deuce over the years.
I have a huge interest in Theology and Church. Combining those with my nickname became Deuceology.
Where’s This Thing Headed?
I used to think that what people wanted to read from me, or any blogger, was simply information. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
I soon realized that this truly bored people. No one really wanted that. They just want to walk alongside those they read.
So, I continue the journey. I hope that you will join me.
You can connect with me in many ways.

Obviously I am not on facebook very much because I just ran across your blog. This is great! Gretchen nor I could sleep so we are sitting here reading your blogs. Now I am going to have to read back through all your church ones to see why you are looking for a church. Have you found one?
This is a great blog keep up the good work.
Hey Tony and Gretchen!!! So glad to hear from you. We have settled on one, but haven’t joined yet.
Would love to compare notes on the church problem. Had quite an experience which caused a split and us to leave. Great blog by the way.

God bless you, Larry.
Be bold. Christ is alive in your words. 🙂
Thanks Brandy
Larry,
I have always read your comments and appreciated what you have had to say. Mostly on SCL and Rebooting Worship. I did not realize you had a blog until that person asked for it. I look forward to reading your stuff.
Thanks Mark!!! I appreciate that.
Larry I just read your bio. My husband name is Ace, it was his Dad nickname. Don’t hear it often.
Nope. And it was all because he backed a trailer into a parking spot on the first try on his first day of wor in 1969.
totally and completely off-subject…is that a Tennessee Vols symbol on your cap?
Yes, indeed. I am a Tennessee Vols fan.
I can’t tell for sure, but it looks like you stopped by my blog http://www.bigstoryguide.wordpress.com to read “Forget about Your Giant for a Second.”
Thanks.
Hi Larry, I recently read your comment on Jon Stolpe’s blog about why you blog. I wanted to show you something (copy this into your URL): http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/deuceology.wordpress.com#
Can I share with you the platform that I use to blog? It’s really amazing, I think you’d like it. If you want more traffic to your blog, more eyes on your content – which I’m guessing you do because you have amazing content with a great message – send me a quick email: onmission4you@gmail.com. Be blessed! Rachel
I’ve seen you around the blogosphere. Just saw your comment on Jeff Goins. Wanted to stop by and say hi. All the best as you continue to pour yourself out online. Blessings!
Thanks Arlen. I tend to lurk around. I appreciate your kind words.
